About Me
Personal Bio
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Mixon, I am from Galveston, Texas, and I recently graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S in General Psychology and a B.A. in Journalism and Media Communication. Throughout my academic career I have developed a keen eye for photography, various forms of journalism, editing, and videography. My experience in psychology has assisted me in learning more about how people work and how to appeal to specific audiences with the most efficacy.
Last summer, I had an apprenticeship with Mailer Production Company between Brooklyn, New York, and Los Angeles, CA, where I learned about my adoration for film and videography. I produced screenplay coverage, assisted in editing a major legal case-based novel, excelled as a PA on film sets, designed pitch decks, and contributed to a multitude of business meetings where I learned about the politics of the film industry. I absolutely loved my position and I developed a hunger to do more and continue developing my professionalism in this field.
I have experience with numerous Adobe platforms and have worked as an employed photographer for an esteemed company. Throughout my experience, I have learned my way around a camera as well as with editing platforms such as Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. Additionally, I played a role in producing the CSU student film festival, Through the Student Lens, where I helped judge submissions and decide finalists. I also contributed to Ram+ and Ram Productions where I helped produce and edit content for the university.
My most recent project was Perennial, my most recent short film. Currently I have another short film and a mini-documentary in the works, stay tuned!
I plan to continue learning and polishing my skills to hopefully complete a graduate program in film/production.
